Family Weekend Trip

We had been staying at a house right across the street from the restaurant and chose to give it a try. I am SO glad we did. It was perfectly experienced, together with mashed potatoes & vegetables. Everyone else was delighted with their foods.

The ceviche and shrimp were mild but flavourful, and the fish using an orange, ginger and habanero shake took a typical pub snack and made it superb. The owner came by to check on us along with the wait staff were attentive but not obtrusive. This was fine dining minus the cost and pretense. Go!

We have been to 5 restaurants in Cancun which are higher rated than this hidden gem. With all of the 5-star reviews, we felt we needed to test it. It didn’t disappoint. Our total bill (for 2) was $83 US. We had 2 great meals, including a classic Mexican dish usually only accessible September (Chiles en Nogada) and an excellent pork shank, combined with 3 margaritas and two quite good house reds. The waiter gave the plus – recommending fantastic stuff like theĀ mayan riviera fishing tours for rookies like me.

Desert was excellent also and not ordered. Luiz was our server. Fantastic understanding of the menu and he made it fun. Throw in it is a gorgeous setting looking out over a marina and this was a wonderful experience, one we hope to repeat on each trip to Cancun. Cannot recommend anyplace any higher.

Deceptive from the street, this beautiful restaurant on the lagoon thoroughly impressed. We had a group of nine, and the service was excellent. Our server was entertaining and enthusiastic. The food was fantastic, and we were amazed by the reasonable cost. We had a variety of appetizers to share. However, I would certainly return as there were plenty of appealing options on the menu.

While the location is a bit hidden, this restaurant at its second year of operation is slowly coming to its own. The greatly expanded menu in the year ago has a few beautiful items on it. By a great burger, to the slow-cooked pork shank and the cherry (yep pear) pizza, there is something for every taste palate.

The outside is somewhat deceptive. There are a full restaurant and terrace seating downstairs, and prices are reasonable. Food is exceptional, and the support is some of the best that we have had. Jose is careful and very funny. We’ll be back here!
